Bosch makes two ranges: the blue Professional range for trade use, and the green DIY-friendly range. Both are backed by German engineering and a strong warranty.
The core cordless trade range. GSR drills, GBH hammer drills, GWS grinders and more — all sharing the Professional 18V ProCORE and Coolpack batteries. Built for daily professional use on site.
Bosch Professional's latest battery technology. ProCORE packs use improved cell cooling to maintain full power under sustained heavy load — significant for angle grinders and rotary hammers. Available in 4Ah, 5.5Ah and 8Ah.
Compact 12V range for light trade work in confined spaces. The GSR 12V-20 and GDR 12V-110 are popular choices for electricians and joiners who need a lightweight, precise secondary tool.
The home and hobbyist range — lower priced, uses a separate battery system. PSB drills, PST jigsaws and GKS saws cover most DIY cutting and drilling tasks. Not compatible with Professional (blue) batteries.
Bosch Professional (blue) tools are built for heavy daily trade use. The green Bosch range is designed for home DIY. The battery systems are separate — blue batteries don't fit green tools and vice versa — so choose your range carefully.
ProCORE is Bosch Professional's advanced 18V battery technology, featuring improved cell cooling that allows the battery to sustain full performance under heavy load for longer before throttling. The ProCORE 4Ah and 5.5Ah packs are popular upgrades from older Coolpack batteries — particularly for grinders and hammer drills.
No — the blue Bosch Professional 18V system and the green Bosch DIY range use different battery connectors and are not compatible. Always check which range your existing tools belong to before buying batteries or adding to your toolkit.
