From the arc welders category: The Clarke MMA200 Arc/MMA Inverter Welder is a quality, efficient product that is ideal for DIY and garage use. This welder can output between 20 and 200A with an input voltage of 230V/50Hz. It is an ultra-lightweight machine that weighs less than 5 and a half kilogrammes, making it easy to transport, providing quality ARC welding on the move. MMA/ARC welding uses a coated consumable electrode (stick) to lay the weld; therefore an additional welding kit is not required. The arc melts the core of the electrode to produce drops of molten metal (weld pool) that cool to create the weld joint. Because of the versatility & simplicity of MMA welding, it requires less skill & is used primarily to weld iron and steels (including stainless steel) up to 8mm thick. Nickel and copper can also be welded with this method. The MMA200 comes with efficient inverter technology that has a high switching frequency, making the unit more efficient than traditional non-inverter transformer-type welders. It also has a large current control knob that makes it easy to operate the machine when wearing large welding gloves. A digital display clearly shows the variable output. This welder has several advanced features including built-in Hot Start, which eases striking the arc; Arc Force, which gives a temporary increase of the output current if the arc turns too short; and Anti Stick, which switches off the power source if the electrode sticks to the material. There is also a Voltage Reduction Safety Device, known as Anti-Shock, which automatically reduces the output voltage when the welder is not in use. This product is supplied with an electrode holder, earth clamp, weld return cable plus a fixed carry handle.
